NSW Nationals MP Wes Fang says Kathleen Folbigg has lost some of the “best years of her life” in prison being wrongly prosecuted and convicted.

Kathleen Folbigg is still waiting for a decision over her compensation, 18 months after being released from jail.

Mr Wang says the Minns Labor government has “shut the door” on Kathleen Folbigg’s legal team.

“The least that Chris Minns can do is provide her some comfort so that she can live out the rest of her life knowing that she doesn’t have to worry about these matters.”

Kathleen Folbigg is still waiting for a decision over her compensation, 18 months after being released from jail.

She was released in June 2023 after serving 20 years of a 25-year sentence.

The 57-year-old was pardoned after doubt was cast over the deaths of her four children.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Ms Folbigg says the drawn-out process has rubbed “extra salt” in the wound.

NSW MPs allegedly broadly support an "act of grace" payment which could tally into the millions.

Sky News contributor Joe Hildebrand has slammed the Democratic Party for relying on identity politics to savour the immigration debate during the presidential election, calling the practice a racist and eugenicist “prism of thinking”.

Mr Hildebrand’s comments follow the appointment of Tom Homan as President-elect Trump’s border czar.

The veteran immigration official will oversee US borders after Donald Trump’s inauguration in January 2025.

“The one demographic that is hurt the most by unchecked illegal immigration is poor working people,” Mr Hildebrand told Sky News hosts Liz Storer and James Macpherson.

“This is why the Dems lost in a landslide – they were not representing the interests of working people, and it is pretty clear they didn’t even know or care.

“The biggest threat to low-income Hispanic workers in America legally is low-income, low-skilled Hispanic workers entering America illegally.

“They [Democrats] are so absolutely racist in their virtue that to them, they [immigrants] just all look the same.

“That’s a disgusting way to look at people.

“This is why this result is and must be the death of identity politics once and for all.”

Sky News political contributor Chris Uhlmann delivers a sneak peek into his upcoming documentary which investigates ‘The Real Cost of Net Zero’.

“It can’t work without a dispatchable fuel source, at the moment it’s coal,” Mr Uhlmann said.

Author Douglas Murray has ripped into MSNBC host Joy Reid over her comments about Donald Trump as he branded her a “race baiter”.

“I think Kevin Rudd’s a good ambassador,” Mr Uhlmann said.

Australia’s AUKUS agreement with the US is our nation’s “short-term” plan for defence, reveals Sky News political contributor Chris Uhlmann.

“If you look at what we’re doing in terms of our own defence, what we’re essentially doing in the short-term is inviting the United States to forward base itself here,” Mr Uhlmann said.

“That’s how we’re defending ourselves.”

President-elect Donald Trump has announced roles for Tesla CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

In a statement posted on Tuesday, Trump announced Musk and Ramaswamy will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency ('DOGE'),” wrote Trump.

“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies - Essential to the 'Save America' Movement.”

US President-elect Donald Trump will nominate Fox News host Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense in his upcoming administration.

Mr Hegseth is an Army National Guard veteran and has served in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay.

The President-elect has released a statement saying: 'With Pete at the helm, America's enemies are on notice - Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down.'

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese should visit the US and stroke the ego of president-elect Donald Trump, urges Sky News political contributor Chris Uhlmann.

His remarks come as Mr Albanese is set to visit South America for the APEC Summit and Brazil for the G20 Summit.

“I think stroking his ego is a big thing,” Mr Uhlmann said.

Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume says "big government isn't always better government".

It's been revealed Anthony Albanese's public sector splurge has cost taxpayers an extra $5 billion.

"What we have seen is an explosion in bureaucracy, particularly in Canberra, because of the Labor government," Ms Hume told Sky News Australia.

"At the same time that we've seen ... 36,000 new public servants come online in Canberra, we haven't seen an improvement to services."

The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released the September quarter wage price index which shows annual wage growth has slowed to 3.5 to 4.1 per cent.

The wage growth moderated in Australia during the September quarter, coming in slightly below what economists forecasted.

At an annualised rate, wages were expected to come at 3.6 per cent instead of the reported 3.5 per cent.

Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume says Australia is a “less economically resilient” country due to the mistakes of the Albanese government.

Treasurer Jim Chalmers has warned a US tariff war with China could have long-term impacts.

“They came into government saying that the cost of living and productivity were their number one issues and yet cost of living has gone backwards and productivity has gone backwards,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia.

“That has left us more vulnerable to the international economic circumstances and environment.”

Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd broke down the Commonwealth Banks’ performance for their first quarter.

The Commonwealth Bank posted a flat profit of $2.5 billion in the first quarter thanks to a greater result from its home lending book.

CBA reported its home loan customers saved their tax cuts during the three months.

“This is something we expected to hear from all the major banks,” Mr Boyd said.

Analysing the results from CBA’s first quarter, Mr Boyd said the “key” was the home loan arrears at a flat 0.65 per cent – generating a tax cut for customers.

“A lot of people actually put that money into their home loan offset account,” he said.

Geologist Ian Plimer claims Environment Protection Australia [EPA] is one of Australia's "biggest killers of productivity", stating a balance must be struck between the environment and a vibrant economy.

"The EPA is one of the biggest killers of productivity in this country," Mr Plimer told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

"It's about time people in the country realise there is a balance between the environment and between a vibrant economy."

Geologist Ian Plimer explains the American economy will "boom" under US President-elect Donald Trump's energy policy and Australia will lag behind if it doesn't follow suit.

"The American economy will boom and if the Australian economy doesn't follow suit, we are going to be lagging behind," Mr Plimer told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

"We have plenty of gas, we have plenty of coal, we have got plenty of uranium, and we just have to wake up to ourselves and use the energy which this country has."

Labor MP Julian Hill has praised the Albanese government pledging an $80 million lifeline to Rex Airlines, saying it is the “right call”.

“Because competition in the airline industry domestically is important, it’s important to keeping prices down,” Mr Hill told Sky News Australia.

“It is the key particularly for regional Australia to have options and choices.”

Left-winged news organisation MSNBC has seen its viewership ratings plunge following Donald Trump’s presidential election victory.

MSNBC’s primetime viewership has dropped 54 per cent in the days following the election, according to a report.

The left-leaning channel saw a daily average of 1.1 million views in October, but those numbers dropped dramatically last week.

Only 736,000 tuned into MSNBC last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the days following Trump’s White House win.

The viewership numbers were collected using Nielsen Media Research data reported by Fox News.

New South Wales Shadow Health Minister Kellie Sloane has slammed the Minns government as she warned its new industrial system is “failing”.

“It’s failing because the nurses are disrespecting it and flouting their luring, the nurses won’t back down from their pay offer, Labor says it won’t pay any more – it’s a stalemate,” Ms Sloane told Sky News Australia.

“That stalemate means we are seeing elected surgeries, planned surgeries, across the state cancelled today for hundreds of people.

“That’s happening because of this Labor government’s inability to negotiate with the nurses.”
